Get paid without knocking twice.
Your customers sign up to Direct Debit once. After that, every clean can be collected straight from their bank, automatically if you want.
What it is
RoundWiz partners with GoCardless, the UK's biggest Direct Debit provider, so you can collect payment for cleans by bank collection instead of chasing cash and transfers. You connect your own GoCardless account (or create one as you connect), your customers authorise a Direct Debit once, and from then on you can take payment for completed cleans with a tap, or let RoundWiz do it for you the moment you mark a clean done.
The money goes to your GoCardless account and pays out to your bank. RoundWiz never holds your money.
Connecting your account
Open Settings, then Payments, and tap Connect GoCardless. You'll be sent to GoCardless to sign in or create an account, then brought straight back. The Payments page always shows whether you're connected, and if GoCardless is still checking your details before it can pay out, you'll see that there too. Verification is GoCardless's process, not ours, and it usually only matters in your first few days.
Getting customers signed up
Open a customer's profile and tap Invite to Direct Debit. RoundWiz makes a secure sign-up link for that customer. Send it however you normally talk to them, text or WhatsApp works fine, but send it straight away, because each link stops working after about 15 minutes. You can always get a fresh one.
Your customer opens the link, checks their details, and enters their bank details on GoCardless's own page. RoundWiz never sees or stores anyone's bank details. As soon as they finish, their profile in RoundWiz shows Direct Debit is set up. That's it, they never need to do it again.
Already collect by GoCardless?
If you've been using GoCardless already, you don't start over. On the Payments page, tap Bring them over and RoundWiz matches your existing GoCardless customers to your round by email address. Anyone it can't match is listed so you can sort them out, and nobody is asked to sign up twice.
Collecting for a clean
When a customer with Direct Debit owes you for cleans, their profile shows a Collect by Direct Debit button with the amount. Tap it, check the cleans it covers, and confirm. GoCardless tells your customer by email before the money leaves their account, and it usually lands with you in 3 to 4 working days.
RoundWiz checks for double charges before anything is sent. If it looks like you've already collected that amount recently, it asks you first.
Collect automatically
On the Payments page there's a switch: Collect automatically when you finish a clean. Turn it on and every clean you mark done for a Direct Debit customer is collected without you doing anything. If a collection can't start, say the Direct Debit has ended or it looks like a duplicate, the clean just stays unpaid for you to collect yourself. Marking cleans done is never held up by it.
Keeping track of the money
The Payments page shows every collection on its way in plain words: waiting to send to the bank, collected and paying out to you, and anything that needs your attention. When a payment fails, insufficient funds is the usual one, RoundWiz tells you why, the clean goes back to unpaid, and you can collect again from the customer's profile whenever suits. Once the money is confirmed, the clean is marked paid and it shows in the customer's history like any other payment, labelled Direct Debit.
What your customers see
Their sign-up happens on GoCardless's own secure pages, they get the standard advance notice email before each collection, and they're covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, the same protection as any household Direct Debit. They can cancel through their bank at any time, and if they do, you'll see it in RoundWiz and can invite them again.
